Alternative Dispute Resolution Center – Mediation Center Mitrovica invites law graduates from Mitrovica region to apply for 2 – internship positions in Mediation Center & Basic Prosecution of Mitrovica. These 2 – internship opportunities are provided within the project ‘’Promoting Access to Justice through Mediation in the Northernmost Municipalities of Kosovo’’, funded by The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH –  Kosovo.

The purpose of the internship is to enable 2 – law graduates to obtain practical legal knowledge by working in the Mediation Center & Basic Prosecution, and to acquire the necessary experience required for taking the bar exam in Kosovo.

 

Position: Intern

No. of Positions: 2 (1 – for law graduates from south of Ibar River & 1 – for law graduates from north of Ibar River)

Internship Type: Paid

Internship Period: July – November 2018

Working Hours: 40 hours per week

Duty Station: Mediation Center Mitrovica Premises and Basic Prosecution of Mitrovica Building (Bosniak Mahalla)

 

The intern(s) will be responsible to:

  • Facilitate the mediation case – referral process between the prosecution/prosecutors & ADRC;
  • Assist prosecutors in the classification of cases suitable for mediation & in their referral to ADRC;
  • Serve as focal point about the case – referral process between ADRC & Basic Prosecution;
  • Assist in the completion and exchange of the case – referral documentation between ADRC & Basic Prosecution;
  • Assist the case acceptance and case returning process;
  • Perform other tasks falling under ADRC’s mediation casework;
  • Provide information about mediation to the interested parties in the Basic Prosecution;
  • Provide general assistance to the Mitrovica Basic Prosecution prosecutors & administrative staff;
  • Perform other work-related duties as requested by the Mitrovica Basic Prosecution prosecutors & administrative staff;

 

Requirements/ We are looking for candidates who:

  • Have a law degree;
  • Are interested in practical work in order to qualify for the bar examination in Kosovo;
  • Are willing to respect the principle of confidentiality of ADRC & Prosecution’s work;
  • Are willing to work in a multi-ethnic environment;
  • Are communicative and take initiative;
