Introduction

The Alternative Dispute Resolution Center (‘the ADRC’) is currently accepting applications from law students and/or graduates from majority and non-majority communities from North Kosovo for five internship positions provided within the project ‘Facilitating Access to Justice in North Kosovo’.

The ADRC shall implement the internship programme in cooperation with a number of institutions and/or bodies working or providing services in the areas of the rule of law and access to justice. The programme aims to assist the work of these institutions and/or bodies and enhance legal capacities in northern Kosovo. It shall last six months and will be conducted in a number of institutions and/or bodies as explained above, including the ADRC.

Applications are due June 29, 2022, and interviews will occur in the first part of July 2022.

General expectations

The interns are expected to:

  • Assist and support the work of the institutions and/or bodies in which they will be assigned;
  • Cooperate to strengthen the links between the institutions and/or bodies in which they will be placed;
  • Promote the work of the institutions and/or bodies in which they will work, including mediation;
  • Attend monthly monitoring meetings;
  • Maintain a positive image of the internship programme within the communities.

 

Qualifications and preferred skills

The interns must comply with the following criteria:

  • Must be law students and/or graduates coming primarily from the Mitrovica region;
  • Must be enrolled or have completed their law studies primarily but not exclusively in the Mitrovica region;
  • Must have an excellent command of Albanian or Serbian (knowledge of other languages would be an asset);
  • Must possess solid computer skills;
  • Are willing to learn and contribute to access to justice activities and human rights in the Mitrovica region;
  • Are communicative and take the initiative;
  • Have personal identification documents and bank accounts.

 

Additional information

The panel selecting the applicants shall pay special attention to the working experience of the applicants and shall give those with lesser or inexistent law or practical experience an advantage.
